Dr. Jada Turco Khosla

Jada Turco Khosla, MD is a Psychiatrist certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and a member of the American Psychiatric Association.  She completed her residency training at the NYU School of Medicine and Medical training at University of Vermont, School of Medicine.  In addition, she completed additional training in Reproductive Psychiatry, Mind Body Medicine, and Integrative approaches to medical care.  Dr. Khosla has worked with TMS patients for over a decade. She is certified with both Brainsway and MagVenture, and has experience working with both systems. She has been working with Spravato patients for the past several years. Dr. Khosla has seen tremendous benefits for patients with both TMS and Spravato and she is happy to be providing these interventions in Vermont. She is an active member of the Clinical TMS Society and is up to date on the most current research and best practices.

She is dual board certified in Integrative and Holistic Medicine.  She has published on the topic of treating depression in pregnancy in the Contemporary ObGyn medical journal.   Dr. Turco Khosla has extensive history in management of psychiatric illness across the spectrum, from acute crisis intervention to preventative measures.  

She has expertise in psychiatric diagnosis and evaluation, comprehensive management of mood disorders and psychopharmacology.  Post-residency she spent time as an attending physician at Bellevue Hospital and was associate faculty at the NYU School of Medicine.  She served as the Associate Medical Director and then as the interim Medical Director of the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program, one of the largest Emergency Psychiatry Programs in the Country. She was also part of the World Trade Center Program for first responders on 9/11 and Survivors of Torture Program where she worked extensively with persons with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.  

As a faculty professor at NYU SOM in her role as Director of CPEP she was actively involved with the coordination, implementation, and oversight of medical education and supervision for residents in Psychiatry, Neurology, and Emergency Medicine, in addition to medical students at the NYU SOM.   From there, Dr. Turco Khosla transitioned to outpatient treatment and developed an approach that encompasses an integrative model to mental health treatment.  She developed and implemented curricula for an elective in Integrative Psychiatry which she taught and mentored for residents at NYU SOM.  

Her current interests and expertise are; Women’s health and Reproductive Psychiatry, advocate and ally of LGBTQ community and care,  and Integrative General Psychiatry.  As part of the #SameHere alliance, Dr. Turco Khosla is committed to normalizing and reducing the stigma associated with mental illness and improving access to services.  Her focus is on the individual, recognizing that each person has their own unique set of experiences, needs, and goals of treatment.  Her unique approach incorporates her knowledge of general medicine and psychiatry with her expertise in psychopharmacology, nutritional neuroscience, interpersonal neurobiology, metaphysics, Eastern religion and philosophy, meditation and mindfulness, and mind-body medicine.

Dr. Maya Carlet

Maya Carlet, DNP, APRN, FNP, L.Ac grew up in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. She attended the University of Vermont where she received her undergraduate degree in Psychology. She later attended the Graduate School of Integrative Medicine in Austin, TX, where she earned a Master of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. After owning a successful Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine practice in New York, NY, she returned to Vermont to attend the University of Vermont College of Nursing where she earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice.

Dr. Carlet has worked as an APRN with the UVMHN/CVMC’s Express Care walk-in clinic since 2018; in addition to her clinical work, she has worked in a leadership role for this clinical site from 2022-2023.  She served as a member of CVMC’s DEI Committee during her full-time employment with that organization. Dr. Carlet is currently pursuing board certification as a Lifestyle Medicine (LM) clinician through the American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM).

In addition to degrees in Eastern and Western medicine, Dr. Carlet has an extensive background in bodywork including deep tissue massage, Craniosacral therapy, yoga, mindfulness and breathwork. Dr. Carlet strives to improve health care access and delivery. She is particularly skilled in promoting the health and wellness of healthcare workers, supporting functional and effective team dynamics, dismantling barriers to healthcare, and in expanding access to the broad resources of lifestyle wellness medicine.

Dr. Carlet is very much at home in Vermont; she enjoys cooking, gardening, hiking, mountain biking, swimming, adventuring and spending time with her friends and family
