PERSONALITY DISORDERS

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) can potentially treat certain symptoms of personality disorders, particularly those related to mood instability, anger management, and impulsive behavior, by stimulating specific brain regions associated with emotional regulation and cognitive control, primarily targeting the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) through non-invasive magnetic pulses, which can help improve the function of these areas and potentially alleviate symptoms like mood swings and impulsive actions; however, research is still ongoing and TMS is not considered a standalone treatment for personality disorders, often needing to be combined with psychotherapy.
